and it's as crowded as Hong Kong in the crispening shadows
there it no more beautiful thing to me
than empty bottles on the lawn when all the alcohol is gone
I can't remember what you last said to me as you were fading
I start to go blind and the things that I do see go spinning and spinning

Keeping company with spirits and insects
you twitch to the backbeat of their tedious chatter
almost everybody else is in this room
its windows yellowing with smoke, the traffic sticking to the main road
and I can't see the light but I can hear its widening sound when
the light turns to green and all of its wheels go spinning and spinning

The ground is dry here but the air is mine dear
I breathe it out

The disappointment in your eyes was the best thing I could give to you
